During a driving lesson, the instructor’s full attention is focused on the learner and the traffic. A ringing mobile phone in the driving school car is dangerous and prohibited. Handle enquiries for new lessons professionally with a clear voicemail message and direct learners to your website to book lessons.

Why driving schools are automating their telephone systems

The car is your classroom. A learner driver sitting behind the wheel for the first time is nervous and needs your reassuring and undivided attention. Answering the phone during a driving lesson is not only illegal and dangerous, it also breaks their concentration. At the same time, new learners are constantly calling to book driving lessons, discuss theory tests or reschedule appointments. The trick is to handle this stream of calls professionally without jeopardising your lesson.

Safety first

Ensure safety in the driving school car. Calls are automatically diverted to the professional voicemail service without distracting your learner.

Book lessons online

Direct callers to your online booking software so that you don’t waste time manually updating calendars.

Office menu for growth

For driving schools with several instructors, the drop-down menu clearly separates sales, theory course bookings and administration.

How do you set this up as an instructor?

A well-organised telephone reception service - whether in the car or at the driving school’s office - solves this problem. A professional-sounding voice on the phone immediately gives a positive, patient impression. You can encourage callers to send their enquiries via WhatsApp or to book a trial lesson online using the registration form. For larger driving schools, an automated menu helps to route enquiries about timetabling directly to the administration team, away from the instructors out on the road.
