Why nurseries are automating their contact systems

A day at a nursery often gets off to a chaotic start. Parents ring early in the morning to report that their child is ill, whilst you are busy welcoming the other children. If your staff have to constantly answer the phone, this comes at the expense of their attention and safety within the group. A smart voicemail system or a simple menu is essential for a nursery. This allows you to process absences quickly and efficiently, without having to interrupt the morning routine.

Streamlining sick leave notifications

Prevent the line from becoming overloaded in the early morning. Allow parents to record a message stating that their child is absent directly via an options menu.

Rest during sleep periods

Protect the children’s afternoon nap by putting the phone on the answering machine, with a warm and clear message.

Enrolments via the website

Encourage new parents to visit your website for information about the waiting list and availability; this will save you a lot of time.

How do you set up the call forwarding service?

On the other hand, your telephone reception creates the first impression for prospective parents. When they enquire about a place or a tour, they want to experience a professional, caring and safe environment. A rushed carer on the line unintentionally conveys a sense of stress. A warm, carefully recorded welcome message immediately gives parents a sense of trust. You can include a direct link to your online enrolment system in the message, which prevents unnecessary waiting times on the phone and ensures the waiting list is managed centrally and efficiently.
